How to cancel Pure Pet Food

Pure Pet Food's help pages and terms read on 27 October 2026

You cancel Pure Pet Food online, in your account on Pure's website, by clicking Stop plan. There is no contract and no charge for stopping. The date that matters is your billing date, not your delivery date: Pure's pages put the cut-off at 23:59 one or two days before it, so cancel two days before to be safe. A delivery already active at the cut-off is still charged.

We haven't cancelled a plan ourselves, so what follows is how Pure describes it, with links to its own pages so you can check the wording. Its pages are always the ones that count.

The steps, as Pure gives them

  1. Log in to your account on Pure's website, before the cut-off for your next billing date.
  2. Click Stop plan.
  3. Pure confirms the cancellation for future orders. Then check the Deliveries page for an order already in progress: Pure's terms say stopping your plan doesn't cancel one automatically.

Pure's FAQ gives cancelling in that one line: in your account, click “Stop plan”, at any time, at no cost. Its terms say the same, that you can cancel in your account on the website at any time.

The cut-off before your billing date

Changes to your plan, cancelling included, have to be made in your account before a cut-off ahead of your billing date. Pure's returns page puts that cut-off at 23:59 the day before your billing date, and its terms and conditions page at 23:59 two days before, so the earlier one is the safe date to work to. After the cut-off you can't cancel, change the address or payment details, or change what's in the order, and any delivery active at that point is still charged.

The billing date comes before the food arrives. Pure's terms say it charges your card when it dispatches the order, and that delivery follows within 2 to 4 days of the dispatch email, so the cut-off is several days before the box reaches you.

Once an order has gone out, Pure's terms say it can't be returned or refunded, because the food is perishable and each bag is made up for your dog. That puts it outside the usual 14 days to change your mind. Faulty, damaged or mis-described food is different: email returns@purepetfood.co.uk with your name and order number within 14 days of it arriving. Pure may ask for photos, and if it confirms the fault it covers the return postage and refunds in full.

If your dog isn't keen

Pure doesn't offer a guarantee, and its FAQ says why: until a dog tries the food, it can't say for sure the dog will like it. Before cancelling, Pure suggests trying a different consistency, with more or less water, and a gradual switch from the old food. You can also change the recipes for each delivery: on the Dashboard in your account, click Switch recipes, choose up to two, and press Save selection. Pure's customer team, who it says are nutritionally qualified, can help with a fussy dog too. How that compares with the other four brands' terms.

If you only need a break

You don't have to cancel to stop food arriving for a while. Pure says you can pause or change your plan at any time, and its help pages give two ways. To move one delivery, open the Deliveries page in your account and click Change date next to it. To have food arrive less often, change the frequency of your future deliveries. The cut-off applies here too: a delivery active at the cut-off goes out as planned.

If food is piling up, Pure says a bag keeps for up to 12 months once opened, in a cool, dry, dark place. Once water is added, it asks you to treat the food as fresh and use it within 48 hours.

If it's the cost

Pure also sells Partly Pure, a smaller plan for mixing with other food. What the part-feeding plans cost against the full ones is on our mixing page. What Pure costs once the intro offer ends is on our cost page. If you'd rather switch, the brands below come out cheaper on our figures.

Coming back later

Pure's terms say each order is charged at the price on its website when the order is placed, and that prices change from time to time, so check the price again before you restart. Our record of Pure's prices shows whether they have moved since we started checking.

Two more things Pure points out

For anything else about your plan, Pure's FAQ gives its team on 0113 868 4737 on weekdays, or hello@purepetfood.co.uk at any time.

Read it yourself, on Pure's own pages: Pure Pet Food FAQ, Cancellation, returns and refunds, Terms and conditions, What to do if your dog is fussy.

We earn a referral fee from some of the brands on this site, which changes nothing on this page; here is how that works.

Questions

When do I need to cancel Pure Pet Food by?

Before the cut-off ahead of your next billing date, not your delivery date. Pure's returns page puts it at 23:59 the day before your billing date, and its terms and conditions page at 23:59 two days before, so cancel by the earlier of the two. A delivery already active at the cut-off is still charged.

Is there a contract or a fee to cancel Pure?

No. Pure's FAQ says your plan isn't a contract, and that you can cancel, pause or change it at any time at no cost. You cancel in your account by clicking "Stop plan".

Can I pause Pure instead of cancelling?

Pure says you can pause or change your plan at any time. Its help pages give two ways to do it: move a delivery with "Change date" on the Deliveries page of your account, or change how often your deliveries come so they arrive less often.

Can I return Pure food my dog won't eat?

Pure's bags are made up for your dog, so they are outside the usual 14-day right to return goods, and Pure doesn't promise a dog will like the food. Faulty or mis-described food is different: email returns@purepetfood.co.uk within 14 days of it arriving.
