About BowlPrice
BowlPrice exists to answer one question properly: what will fresh dog food actually cost, for your dog, once the introductory offer ends? Fresh food brands price per-dog, so their prices only appear after a signup quiz, which makes comparing them genuinely hard work. We do that work so you don't have to.
What we cover
Every brand on the site prices per dog. You give them a breed, a weight, an age and an activity level, and they quote a figure built for that dog, which appears at the end of the signup process rather than on a price list. Comparing them by hand means working through one signup process per brand, then working out what each price becomes when the introductory offer ends. That is the job this site does for you.
The categories we currently cost:
- Gently cooked. Human-grade ingredients cooked at low temperature, delivered chilled or frozen.
- Raw. Uncooked meat, bone and offal, delivered frozen.
- Dehydrated. Whole ingredients air-dried and rehydrated with warm water at home, so no freezer space is needed.
- Personalised kibble. A dry food blended to your dog's profile and delivered on subscription.
What we don't cover
Dry and wet food bought from a shop or an online retailer. A bag or a tray carries a price on the label and a feeding guide on the back, so working out a cost per day takes a minute and needs nothing from us. We have never sampled shelf prices, and we don't quote them or compare against them.
So the line falls on how a brand sells rather than on what is in the bowl. tails.com sells a dry food and appears on the site, because it is a per-dog subscription priced through a signup quiz like the others.
Who we are
BowlPrice is published by E-Tara Ltd, an independent company registered in England & Wales, company number 05711631. We are not owned by, invested in, or otherwise affiliated with any pet food brand, and no brand can pay to change how it ranks in our calculator.
We say who we are because a site that publishes price claims about other companies should be identifiable itself. Our figures are checked against each brand's own quote process, and if one of them is wrong we would rather you could find us and say so.
How we verify prices
We enter real dog profiles into each brand's own signup process and record the price at the final pre-checkout review step, including recipe surcharges and the intro-offer terms actually applied. Those sampled prices are fitted to each brand's pricing curve so the calculator can quote any weight. Every brand is re-checked weekly at the weights we quote, and fully re-sampled monthly. Every result carries the date it was last verified, and every detected price change is recorded in a dated change log.
Where a brand's price hasn't yet been verified this way, we say so. Estimates are always marked as estimates.
