How we make money

BowlPrice is free to use. When you click through to a brand and start a subscription, some brands pay us a referral commission. That commission comes out of the brand's marketing budget, and it never changes the price you pay.

Our independence rules

Ranking is price, full stop. The calculator sorts by the ongoing price per day for your dog. Commission rates play no part, and brands cannot pay for position.
Every brand is included on the same terms, whether or not it pays us anything. Brands with no commercial relationship to us appear alongside those with one.
Where we compare one kind of food, we say what's missing. Some pages compare a single kind of food (fresh food and gently cooked food), because that's the question a lot of people are actually asking. Those pages are filtered by food type and nothing else, they still rank on price alone, and each one names the brands it leaves out and links back to the full comparison.
Where we price one brand, we say who beats it. Some pages cover a single brand, because that's what a lot of people search for once they've chosen one. Those pages carry links to that brand, and they also list every brand we track that works out cheaper for the same dog, worked out by the same calculation as everywhere else. If a page names no cheaper alternative, it's because our figures don't find one.
Where we compare two brands, we say what sits outside the pair. Some pages put two brands head to head, because that's where a lot of people get to before deciding. Which of the two we show first is decided by price for the dog in question, never by what either pays us, and each page also lists everything else we track that undercuts them both. A shortlist of two isn't a claim that the market only holds two.
Prices come from sampling, not from brands. We record prices from each brand's own quote process ourselves and publish the verification date. Brands don't supply or approve our figures.
Referral links are marked. Outbound brand links use the sponsored attribute in line with search-engine guidelines.
Where our links go. Brand links point at bowlprice.co.uk/go/ and forward you to the brand, which keeps the destination readable instead of a long tracking URL and lets us count clicks without third-party trackers on our pages. Everyone is sent to the same place, and you always land on the brand's own site.

Accuracy

Our figures are estimates fitted to sampled prices and may differ from a brand's live quote: recipes, extras and delivery options all move the total. Always confirm the final price on the brand's own site before subscribing.
