UK tails.com price check

How much does tails.com cost?

tails.com bills a calendar month rather than a box, and quotes at the end of a signup funnel with an email gate part-way through. This page gives the ongoing monthly and daily price for the kibble-only plan, for six common dog sizes, from prices we recorded in the brand's own funnel.

  • Ongoing price per day, per month and across a first year
  • Kibble-only plan, with the optional wet-food pack declined
  • Set against every fresh brand we track, on the same calculation

tails.com prices by dog size

tails.com displays a calendar-monthly price, so the monthly column here is the figure that reaches your statement. The per-day column is that monthly divided by the average length of a month, which keeps it comparable with the fresh brands without misstating what you are billed. These are prices for a neutered adult on typical walks.

What the intro offer actually does

The opening discount covers the first calendar month, and the site advertises a smaller one on the second. Here is what our figures assume, for a mid-size dog.

Current offer: 60% off your first month (site also advertises 30% off your second).

Cheaper than tails.com for the same dog

Nothing else we track comes out cheaper for this dog. That is the same calculation this site runs on every brand page, and here it returns an empty list. It is worth knowing why rather than just taking it: personalised kibble is a dry food, and the fresh plans on this site cost more to make, chill and ship. If you are choosing between formats rather than looking for the lowest number, the fresh comparison is the more useful page. Either way it can change after a re-sample.

Why the monthly figure is the one to check

For a 14kg adult, tails.com came out at about £38 a month when we sampled it in July 2026, roughly £456 across a year at the ongoing price, or £1.25 a day. We work the daily figure out from the monthly rather than the other way round, so the monthly column and the per-day column agree with each other and with what you are actually charged.

The site advertises a price from 62p a day. The smallest dog we sampled, a 3kg toy breed, came out at £0.52 a day, so that public floor is a conservative one. A mid-size dog pays roughly double it, which is the ordinary reason a quote lands above a headline figure: the headline describes a very small dog, and most dogs are not one.

What these figures leave out

Every price here is for the kibble-only plan. During signup tails.com offers a wet-food selection pack alongside it, which we declined. It was priced at £24.80 a month for both a 7kg and a 14kg dog, and £20.80 for a 30kg one, so it goes by the number of packs rather than by the size of the dog. If you accept it, add that to the table above rather than assuming it scales with your quote.

tails.com shows its own calorie figure just before the plan reveal: 796 kcal a day for a 14kg neutered adult on the default activity setting, against 811 from the formula this calculator uses, a difference of under 2%. That is a close match. What is not close is the format. For the same 14kg dog, the fresh plans we track ran from £2.09 a day for raw up to £3.45 for gently cooked in the same sampling, and they are a different product rather than a worse deal.

tails.com costs: your questions

How much is tails.com a month?

About £38 a month for a 14kg adult at the ongoing price, from our July 2026 sampling of the kibble-only plan. The table above gives six sizes from a 3kg toy breed to a 40kg Rottweiler, and the calculator on the homepage prices your dog's exact weight alongside every fresh brand we track.

Why is tails.com cheaper than fresh dog food?

Because it is a different product. Kibble is dry, shelf stable and made at scale, and it ships without the water that makes up most of a fresh meal. Fresh plans cost more to make, chill, ship and store, and they need fridge or freezer space given over to the dog. For a 14kg adult the fresh plans we track ran from £2.09 to £3.45 a day against £1.25 here, in the same July 2026 sampling.

Does the tails.com price go up after the first month?

Yes. The opening discount covers the first calendar month, and the site advertises a smaller one on the second, after which the plan settles at the ongoing price this page leads with. The exact current terms are shown in the box above, taken from the brand's own funnel at our last sampling rather than from its homepage banner.

Is the tails.com wet food pack included in these prices?

No. We declined it when sampling, so every figure here is the kibble-only plan. When we saw it offered it was £24.80 a month for both a 7kg and a 14kg dog and £20.80 for a 30kg one, priced by pack count rather than by dog size, so it is worth checking against your own quote rather than scaling it.
