Has Butternut Box put its prices up?

Not since we started recording. We have read Butternut Box's prices on 15 dates between 13 July 2026 and 14 October 2026, and at all five dog sizes we check, every reading matched the one before to the penny, apart from the change in what we record on 14 October 2026, explained below. Our log holds no price change for it.

On 14 October 2026 we changed what we record for Butternut Box. Until then, every figure here was the price per day Butternut Box's signup shows on its plan step. That price leaves out the delivery charge Butternut adds to every box after the first, which only its checkout shows. From that date each figure is the ongoing box as its checkout prices it, delivery included. The plan-step price itself had not changed to the penny at any size, so the step in the table is a change in what we record, not a price rise.

Butternut Box doesn't publish a price list. It quotes a price per dog at the end of its signup, so the only way to know whether it has changed is to ask it again. We walk that signup ourselves at five dog sizes and record what it quotes, and this page is every reading we hold.

A full reading walks a whole set of dog profiles through the signup and records every quote. A weekly check re-prices the sizes shown and compares each with the reading before. A dash means that size wasn't part of that check. Figures are shown to the penny, exactly as quoted. What these figures cover

• Ongoing, not introductory. Opening offers change far more often than prices do, so they are logged separately and left out of every figure here.
• The same dog as the rest of the site. A neutered adult on typical walks, so any figure here can be checked against the calculator and what Butternut Box costs today.
• Price per day, not per pack. A brand can change a pack size without changing what a dog costs to feed, and a per-day figure for the same dog is the number a subscriber actually pays.
• Butternut Box prices its recipes individually. Every reading here is for the default recipe selection its signup builds, and a plan edited down to base recipes costs less than these figures.
• Its quote follows weight and puppy status alone. Walking the same dog at different activity levels, and with and without neutering, returned the same price, which is why one row per dog size covers it.
